with Rabbi Allison Berry
If you haven’t studied Torah as an adult before, it can be intimidating. What exactly is Torah commentary? Midrash? Why does Hebrew grammar change how we interpret the text? And, most importantly, why study Torah at all? Join Rabbi Berry and guests for this four week class, designed for anyone who would like to learn about the art and beauty of Torah study. No prior experience studying Torah or knowledge of Hebrew language required. Bring your lunch, curiosity and your questions! Our class will culminate on a Saturday morning as we join our weekly Torah study group for a celebration and chance to learn together. It’s ok if you can’t attend every session – join us when you can!
Sorry, Registration has ended.

“I’m only 13—how can I make an impact?” If you’ve ever asked yourself this question, this program is for you. 6th Graders, bring your parents and we’ll explore what it means to take on a Mitzvah Project and how you can create meaningful change in the world around you. Through a Jewish lens, we’ll dive into the social justice issues that matter most to you and discover the power of youth voices in building a better future. Whether you already have an idea or are just beginning to think about it, come ready to be inspired, ask big questions, and leave with a clearer vision of how your Mitzvah Project can make a real difference. Together we will put the "Mitzvot" into B'Mitzvah! -

Monday, October 20, 2025 | 7:30pm (Zoom) Temple Shalom’s Book Club is once again off on a journey, but this time to Israel, and if truth be told, not really to Israel but to Etgar Keret’s memories of The Seven Good Years between the birth of his son and the death of his father. In a series of vignettes, Etgar, in his first novel, describes life in Israel as one of both wonder and sadness. His memoir is filled with life, love, poignant insights, and irrepressible humor. Agi Sardi will serve as the discussion facilitator for our meeting. -
