Learn About Our Community

At Temple Shalom, we are proud of our diverse and inclusive community. As a congregational family, Temple Shalom is committed to making each person feel welcome and at home. We do this in a personal way by getting to know each member of our community, one at a time, and in doing so help everyone find a place in Temple Shalom’s dynamic and supportive Jewish community.

Currently, 677 families belong to Temple Shalom. We are proud that our community welcomes people of traditional and non-traditional backgrounds, interfaith families, Jews-by-choice and Jews of color, members of the LGBTQ community, people with disabilities, and those searching for meaning.

Membership at Temple Shalom brings with it numerous benefits, including:

  • A wide range of social, educational and spiritual programming for all ages.
  • The opportunity to enroll in our inclusive Jewish education programs for Grades K-12.
  • New friendships and lifelong connections with people who are in similar stages of life as you are.
  • Engagement with our clergy, who are available for pastoral care, lifecycle events, and general guidance.
  • Leadership opportunities through various committees, task forces, and projects.
  • All High Holy Day services and programs.
  • Access to all Adult Education courses
  • Hold life-cycle events such as weddings and funerals in our Sanctuary
  • Rent our spaces for other purposes
  • Travel with us on trips to Israel and other Jewish communities around the world

Our Financial Philosophy

At Temple Shalom, we believe that every family should find the right synagogue fit for them—and we know that for many families, finances are an important factor when choosing to affiliate with a congregation. We choose to be transparent about our fee structures so that every household can have everything they need to make an informed decision.
