Temple Travel

Temple Shalom has sponsored trips over the years to such destinations as Israel and Cuba. The trips enable our members to learn about culture, history and Jewish life in their travels along with building the Temple Shalom community.

Etgar 36 Civil Rights trip in 2020

ETGAR 36: A Multi-Generational Journey South will visit key cities and sites of the Civil Rights movement in January 2020.
On Jan. 23, 2020, a group of Temple Shalom teens and adults will travel to Atlanta to begin a four-day guided journey. Through a Jewish lens, we will explore museums, monuments and existing social justice institutions in Atlanta and Montgomery, Birmingham, and Selma, Ala.
Highlights include the Rosa Parks Museum, a Saturday Shabbat experience on the famous Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, the new Lynching Museum at the Equal Justice Initiative, the MLK center and a visit to Fair Fight, an anti-voter suppression organization formed by Stacy Abrams, the Democratic candidate for governor of Georgia last year. Temple Shalom goes to Israel in 2020

       

Jerusalem. Tel Aviv. Israeli cuisine. Politics. History. And much more is in store on the Temple Shalom Food, Wine & Politics of Israel trip led by Rabbis Berry and Abrasley from March 22-31, 2020. The trip is geared to adults. Learn more about the trip and deepen connections to Israel.  Registration for the trip is open. ARZA is coordinating the trip. The deadline to sign up is Oct. 20.

Past travel

Family trip journeys to Israel
Temple Shalom went on a family trip to Israel in February 2019 led by Rabbis Abrasley and Berry. Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Masada were among the highlights. ARZA led the trip.

Temple Shalom visits  Central Europe 2018
Budapest, Vienna and Prague were on the itinerary of a Central Europe trip for Temple members in October 2018. The focus was on history, culture and Jewish life. Highlights included the largest synagogue in Europe, the Dohany Street Synagogue in Budapest, the ancient Hofburg Palace in Vienna and the Charles Bridge and AltNeu Shul in Prague on this ARZA-led trip.
