Making Friends and Developing Economies Around the World

It’s a big world but getting flatter all the time. No matter how much events and international policies work to separate us, getting to know each other as people gives a real chance to not only find common ground, but also to enrich each others’ lives in both the figurative and literal sense.

Chris Steele works with communities across North America and around the world to help them build sustainable economies. Whether in trying to figure out how to draw foreign direct investment to an area or determining how to support local business, the work begins with the very enjoyable task of getting to know a place and its people. Chris will share a few stories of his work in Jordan, Azerbaijan, Madagascar, China, Singapore, Colombia, Haiti, as well as in the US and Canada.

Chris Steele is CEO and President of EBP-US, which focuses on sustainable development around the globe.  He is a 30-year veteran in corporate real estate and economic development with past positions at EY, ADP, Conway Data, and over a decade running his own firm, Investment Consulting Associates. He is a Temple member (and guitar player in the Shabbat Haleilu band!) and has lived in Newton for 20 years.
