Rabbi Allison Berry

This week, as we celebrate Thanksgiving, our secular holiday of abundance, both Rabbi Abrasley and I find our hearts are full. During a dark and difficult time for the Jewish community, you have filled our hearts with the joy of celebration. As we reflect on our weekend of installation, we are filled with awe and humility. We are so very grateful.
Thank you for your blessings, your hard work, your joy and for the deeply thoughtful, joy-filled moments you created. May the Temple Shalom community, our house of peace, be a place of joy for all of us for many years to come.
At this moment of celebration and Thanksgiving, we offer you and your family this prayer for abundance, written by Rabbi Naomi Levy:
For the laughter of the children,
For my own life breath,
For the abundance of food on this table,
For the ones who prepared this sumptuous feast,
For the roof over our heads,
The clothes on our backs,
For our health,
And our wealth of blessings,
For this opportunity to celebrate with family and friends,
For the freedom to pray these words
Without fear,
In any language,
In any faith,
In this great country,
Whose landscape is as vast and beautiful as her inhabitants.
Thank You, God, for giving us all these. Amen.
