Purim Clothing Swap
Sunday, March 20, 2022 • 17 Adar II 5782
10:30 AM - 12:00 PMSocial HallWhat: A clothing swap where donated clothing items from congregants will be available for everyone to peruse and take home for free! Clothes will range from baby sizes to adult. Keeping clothing in circulation helps to keep it out of landfills and acquiring used clothing has a significantly smaller carbon footprint than buying new!
What if the garment is stained? That's okay! We will have TIE-DYE STATION to cover up those unwanted spots with funky designs!
When: Sunday, March 20th from 10:30-12:00 (During Purimpalooza)
Where: The Temple Shalom Social Hall
Who: Any member of the Temple Shalom community from age 0-100 is welcome to come and browse the clothing options. Any items not claimed will be donated after the event.
How: There will be a labeled collection bin outside the main entrance of Temple Shalom starting Monday, February 28th. Clothing donations should be dropped off in a sealed bag that is labeled, "Clothing Swap Donation." Please Note: We are not collecting undergarments, socks, or shoes and any such item we receive will be discarded.

Friday, Jun 13th 7:30p to 9:30p
Temple Shalom is honored to welcome erica riddick (she/they), Founding Director of Jews of Color Sanctuary & Creator of the Bilhah Zilpah Project and Parasha Play, for a three-part weekend experience of deep text exploration, personal reflection, and community conversation rooted in the themes of Torah and liberation. Through her work as a scholar, educator, and spiritual leader, erica invites us to analyze and look beyond narrative assumptions through connections with our own lived experience. Her work fosters inclusive spaces which center Jewish people of color and deepen holistic creative connection to ritual and the Torah. Learning From Enslavement: Tapping Into a Foundational Message of the Torah erica shares their personal journey of connecting with the Torah through sincere direct engagement with difficult texts and how that transformed text study practice. Participants will be reflecting on and discussing their own relationships with difficult Torah texts in this special dinner program. -
