PM to listen to author, David Abromowitz, describe his family history, which he describes as the “scaffolding on which I built The Foxtail Legacy story.”

The evening will also include audience Q & A, an opportunity for the audience
to discuss the novel, and a book signing.

Newton resident David Abromowitz’s debut novel, The Foxtail Legacy, carries
the reader along on an epic immigrant journey across three continents. In his
book, David tells the story of Jacob Itzkowitz, a teen who leaves his village in
anti-Semitic Czarist Russia to chase the possibility of making a fortune in South
Africa during the 1890s gold rush. Through various twists and turns, Jacob and
his wife Shira make a new life for themselves in America during the 20th
century, but encounter challenges when a dark secret is revealed. The Foxtail
Legacy explores relatable immigrant struggles and the ultimate desire to
achieve the American dream.

David Abromowitz is a long-time Goulston & Storrs attorney nationally known for
his expertise in real estate, affordable housing, and workforce development
issues. He is a Board member of the Jewish Community Relations Council of
Greater Boston and, most recently, co-founded Families United for Trans
Rights. David has lived in Newtonville for many years and has raised his family
there. He is also a proud native of New Jersey, part of the setting for The Foxtail
Legacy.
