Dear Temple Shalom Community,

As we try to process everything that took place at Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville, Texas this weekend we feel deeply sad, frightened and, of course, angry. At times like this we need our community more than ever. And we need support from our friends and neighbors - the greater community around us - as a reminder that we are not alone. 

We are blessed in Newton to have interfaith partners who stand by us at challenging times.

Our friends and neighbors will join us in solidarity and support as we celebrate the beauty and peace of Shabbat. In doing so, we will make this Shabbat with our greater community one of love. 

Each will share a favorite text or teaching from their tradition about love. We know they will lift us up and inspire us.
