Weapons Policy
Purpose: To ensure the safety and security of all individuals on the premises of the temple, this policy establishes a strict prohibition on the possession of weapons, including handguns, regardless of whether the individual has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Policy Statement: For the safety of our congregation, staff, and visitors, the possession of weapons, including handguns, is strictly prohibited on the premises of the temple. This policy applies to all individuals, including those who have obtained permits to carry concealed weapons.
Scope: This policy applies to all individuals entering the temple premises, including but not limited to
members, visitors, contractors, and volunteers.
Exceptions: The only exception to this policy is for active-duty law enforcement officers who are
authorized by their respective agencies to carry firearms as part of their official duties.
Definitions:
- Weapons: This term includes, but is not limited to, firearms (handguns, rifles, shotguns, etc.) knives, explosives, or any other objects that can be used to inflict harm.
- Temple Premises: This term shall include all buildings, grounds, parking lots, and any other property owned, leased, or controlled by the temple.
Enforcement: Any individual found in violation of this policy will be asked to leave the premises immediately. Failure to comply with this request may result in further action, including but not limited to contacting law enforcement authorities.
Policy: This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to ensure it remains effective and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Acknowledgement: By entering the temple premises, all individuals acknowledge and agree to comply with this policy.
