Rabbi Allison Berry

These are dark and difficult days for the Jewish community. And yet, in Psalm 126 we are taught, “those who sow in tears, will reap in joy.” We are a people who are ever resilient. As we take our next steps together, let’s join the greater Jewish community this Friday evening and #ShowUpForShabbat.
We will fill our synagogue with prayer, music and the voices of young people. We will open our doors to neighbors who share our commitment to building bridges, not walls. In our anger, this coming Tuesday, let’s go and vote. And with our communal strength, let’s join those who fight against anti-Semitism, racism and hate in all its forms. Together, let’s fill up our community, our schools, our homes and the streets upon which we walk, with love.
May we gain strength from one another. And may we let Torah – our Tree of Life – be our guide back to life and peace.
Please know that the clergy are here for you – be in touch with us if you would like to process, connect or simply share a moment of support. As we pray each Shabbat morning: Etz Chaim Hi La’macha’zikim’ba. For it is a Tree of Life for those who hold it close, and all who support it are happy. Its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its paths are peace.
