• The purpose of the SHAFTY Leadership Board is to create a meaningful, productive, and inclusive community, both within the SHAFTY leadership and the general SHAFTY community.

• The SHAFTY Leadership Board will work together as a team, without specific Board Positions
• Board positions will last for the entire school year, with elections every Spring.
• The Board will meet monthly for visioning, brainstorming, and planning dynamic programming
• Each Board Member will sign up to be an Event Chair for different events and act as the go-to person for that specific activity (this includes Jr. SHAFTY events)

• Rising 9th-12th Grader at Temple Shalom

• ​Help structure, plan, and promote all SHAFTY activities
• Strategize ways to incorporate Judaism and Social Action into all SHAFTY activities
• Participate in SHAFTY activities when available, and chair specific events
• Create a programming calendar for the year (Sept-May) that includes all SHAFTY and NFTY events and integrates the Temple Shalom calendar
• Establish quality goals for each event and evaluate achievement of said goals
• Manage communication with SHAFTYites via phone, email, text and social media
• Ensure that photographs are taken when SHAFTYites are gathered
• Strategize about potential SHAFTYites interested in NFTY and communicate directly with them about attending events
• Act as SHAFTY Representative at NFTY events
• Encourage 6th-8th graders to attend Jr. SHAFTY and spread excitement to 6th-8th graders about SHAFTY
• Participate in running Jr. SHAFTY activities when available
• Set a welcoming tone of positivity, warmth, openness, and inclusion
